DESCRIPTION / INSTRUCTIONS

In Ayurvedic medicine, it is believed that Honey enhances the medicinal effectiveness of the Cinnamon formulation.

According to experts in Chinese Traditional Medicines, Cinnamon is hot. It produces heat in the body which is known as “Yang”. Yang cures “Yin” which means coldness. Honey, on the other hand, is neutral and it balances both “Yang” and “Yin”.

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. Honey possessesanti - bacterial properties. This claim is supported by numerous studies. It fights against external and internal infections.

Chinese Medicine says Cinnamon is warming and nourishing for thekidney. Cinnamon also possesses anti - inflammatory and anti - oxidant properties.

Many people who have tried this concoction found it to be effective in boosting their body metabolism and helpful in their weight loss efforts.

Taking a drink of Cinnamon and Honey on a regular basis can preventheart diseases by clearing the clogged arteries.

It helps protect the stomach wall by coating it. By cleaning the system of bad bacteria, it helps to heal any infection thereby helping to treat symptoms of bloating, gas and acid reflux.

When Honey is taken with Cinnamon, it increases mental alertness and improves memory. Treating cancer like many other claims, this is unproven scientifically. It may prove helpful in reducing the chances of cancer by eliminating free radicals. Some people have even reported to have treated breast and colon cancers by using Honey and Cinnamon.

Honey is rich in many minerals and vitamins, while cinnamon contains calcium, iron, vitamin c, vitamin K, manganese and fiber. When combined they make a great immune boosting tonic.  Taking Honey and Cinnamon tea regularly boostsenergy levels, physical strength and mental alertness.

Advice:

Often in supermarkets you don’t buy true Cinnamon, but Cassia , which is a cheap Cinnamon from China, Vietnam and Indonesia. it contains a potentially dangerous substance called coumarin. (unfortunately, Saigon Cinnamon is actually Cassia. look for Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Verum)).

Coumarin istoxic to the liver, is an anticoagulant (it thins the blood), and has been shown to cause cancer in rodents.

Cassia Cinnamon (Cinnamomum  Cassia) should only be used sparingly, as a very light sprinkling, and not in teaspoon amounts.

Cassia should be avoided by pregnant women, those with liver disease, and diabetes.

Try to only buy Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Verum) and again, conduct your own research, as it is your health.

How to make mixture:

Use Honey and Cinnamon in a 1:2 ratio (one part Cinnamon, two parts Honey).

Put the Cinnamon in a cup or bowl. Boil one cup of water. Pour water over the Cinnamon and let it steep for 30 minutes (Shorten the waiting time if you prefer a thinner drink). Once the liquid has cooled, add Honey. Always add Honey to the cooled liquid - hot liquid will destroy the enzymes in the raw Honey.

Drink half of the resulting “Tea” before going to bed. Cover and refrigerate the rest. Drink the other half first thing in the morning. Do not add anything to the recipe. only drink on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning and right before bed.
